Position Overview:
The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and executing Wow Braids' comprehensive marketing strategy. This role will focus on brand positioning, customer acquisition, revenue growth, and building long-term brand loyalty. You will lead a dynamic marketing team, working cross-functionally to align marketing initiatives with business objectives. Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
- Lead the marketing team in day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and business goals.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
- Identify growth opportunities, including potential new markets, products, or partnerships.
- Manage and allocate the marketing budget efficiently to maximize ROI.
- Develop KPIs and metrics to measure the success of marketing initiatives and adjust tactics accordingly.
2. Brand Management:
- Champion the Wow Braids brand, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity across all channels.
- Drive brand storytelling that highlights Wow Braids' unique value proposition, including the cultural significance of black beauty and the company’s social impact efforts.
- Oversee product launch campaigns, ensuring they resonate with the target audience and drive sales.
- Ensure all marketing materials reflect the brand’s authenticity, empowerment, and inclusivity.
3. Digital & Social Media Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns across SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and influencer partnerships.
- Drive Wow Braids’ presence on social media platforms, ensuring engagement and growth through content that speaks to the core audience (black women and beauty enthusiasts).
- Collaborate with the e-commerce team to optimize the online shopping experience and increase conversion rates.
- Leverage data analytics to continuously refine and improve digital marketing strategies.
4. Team Management & Collaboration:
- Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team, including roles in content creation, social media, digital marketing, PR, and brand management.
- Provide guidance and leadership to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product development, operations, sales) to ensure alignment and successful execution of marketing initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, consultants, and partners as needed.
5. Customer Engagement & Loyalty:
- Develop customer retention strategies, including loyalty programs and personalized marketing efforts.
- Use CRM and data-driven approaches to create segmented campaigns that improve customer lifetime value.
- Identify and activate customer touchpoints to improve engagement, trust, and long-term brand loyalty.
6. Public Relations & Partnerships:
- Develop and execute a PR strategy to increase media coverage in beauty and fashion publications, online platforms, and cultural outlets.
- Manage influencer relationships, brand ambassador programs, and partnerships that elevate the Wow Braids brand.
- Oversee strategic events, both virtual and in-person, to increase brand visibility and customer engagement.
7. Data & Analytics:
- Continuously measure, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and email marketing platforms.
- Use data to make informed decisions, optimize campaigns, and uncover new marketing opportunities.
- Report on key metrics such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on marketing investment (ROMI), conversion rates, and lifetime customer value (LCV).
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the beauty, fashion, or e-commerce industries.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive growth and brand awareness.
- Experience working in a direct-to-consumer (DTC) and e-commerce environment.
- Strong understanding of the black beauty market, cultural trends, and consumer behavior within this segment is a plus.
Skills:
- Expertise in digital marketing channels including SEO, SEM, social media, email, and influencer marketing.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker able to develop unique marketing campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.
Tools & Platforms:
- Proficiency with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, or similar platforms.
- Experience with CRM systems and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon).
